Natze on tour

Kathrin Steinbichler und ich kennen uns schon seit über 20 Jahren und sind gut befreundet.
Als wir uns mal wieder getroffen und uns die Geschichten von früher erzählt haben, mussten wir beide so lachen und Kathrin sagte: 

Mensch Natze, das sind so coole Storys - lass uns daraus ein Buch machen.

Nun, knapp 2 Jahre später ist es fertig.
Mein Buch, meine Story "Im richtigen Moment".

Das habe ich euch vor ein paar Wochen geschrieben:

"Nun endlich, nach dem ganzen hin und her reisen, von A nach B, von rechts nach links, von Portland nach Deutschland, nach Moskau und einmal um die halbe Welt.... Endlich bin ich in Brisbane gelandet, der Jetlag ist überstanden und ich habe endlich wieder Zeit hier etwas zu schreiben :-) ... "

Nun sitze ich in Deutschland, bin mal wieder um die halbe Welt gereist, und der Jetlag ist mal wieder überstanden :-)
Für diejenigen, die es nicht wissen sollten, ich bin für 10 Tage mit meinem Nationalteam in Deutschland unterwegs.
Am Samstag haben wir gegen Frankreich, in Offenbach gespielt, und leider verloren. 
Es war ein Testspiel gegen einen starken Gegner, und wir werden an unseren Fehlern arbeiten.
Danke an alle Fans, die uns unterstützt und so großartig angefeuert haben.
Hier die Highlights vom Spiel. 

Nun geht es weiter nach Schweden, wo wir erneut auf einen sehr starken Gegner treffen werden, und ich freue mich auf dieses Spiel.
                                                                                                                                                   

A few weeks ago, I have written to you:

"Now finally, after all the traveling back and forth from A to B, from right to left, from Portland to Germany to Moscow and halfway around the world .... Finally I landed in Brisbane, the jet lag is over and I finally have time to write something here again :-) ... "

Now I'm in Germany, I once again traveled halfway around the world and the jet lag is over again : -). For those who don't know, I am for 10 days on tour in Germany together with my National Team. 
On Saturday we played against France in Offenbach and unfortunately we lost the game.
It was a game against a strong opponent and we will work on our mistakes. 
Thanks to all the fans who have supported us and cheered so great. 

Here are the highlights from the game. 

Now we are going to Sweden, where we will meet a very strong opponent again and I am looking forward to this game.
                                                                                                                                                   

Meine Zeit in Brisbane habe ich auch schon gut genutzt - ich habe angefangen zu "kochen" :-)
Mein Brisbane Roar Team hat sich, bevor es für mich nach Deutschland ging, zum BBQ angemeldet und da musste ich ja mal zeigen, was ich so in der Küche zu bieten habe.
Es gab, von mir selbst gemachte Couscous Rote Bete Sushi Rollen - yummi. 
Bitte fragt mich bloss nicht nach dem Rezept ;-)

I used my time in Brisbane for some good things - I've started to "cook" :-) 
My Brisbane Roar team came over for a BBQ before I went to Germany, I had to show what I could do in the kitchen as a chef. 
I made all ​​by myself Couscous Beetroot Sushi Rolls - yummi.

Australien verbinde ich auch mit Meer, Sonne, Haien... Sonne gibt es genug in Brisbane - und das Meer inklusive der Haie ist zum Glück nicht ganz so weit weg.
Byron Bay ist mein absoluter Lieblingsort um abzuschalten und meine seltenen freien Tage zu genießen. Ich habe keine Haie gesehen ... noch nicht ...
                                                                                                                                                   

I associate Australia with sea, sun, sharks ... there is enough sun in Brisbane - and the sea including sharks is fortunately not quite so far away. 
Byron Bay is my absolute favorite place to kick back and enjoy my rare free days. I haven´t seen any sharks ... not yet ...

Dort habe ich auch meine neuen Freund Harney kennen gelernt - zur Zeit gibt es echt verdammt viele Hunde um mich herum ... Was meint Ihr - ist das ein Zeichen?

Außerdem war da auch "Alfred" das Possum ... Das Gurkenmonster.

Auch war ich zu Besuch bei meinem Lieblingskünstler, und habe mir weitere Inspirationen für mein Haus auf Fuerteventura geholt. Neben dem Künstlerladen gibt es einen tollen Organic-Raw-Food Laden, die ziemlich abgefahrene Sachen selber mixen, kochen, shaken. Ich bin jedes mal aufs neue überwältigt, welche komischen Zutaten die in ein Shake reinhauen. Dann schmeckt es so unfassbar gut, und ist dazu auch noch extrem gesund. 

                                                                                                                                                   

In addition to the artist shop, there is a great organic raw food store, and they mix some crazy stuff, boil, shake... I'm all the time overwhelmed what crazy kinds of ingredients you can have in a shake. It tastes so incredibly good and it is also extremely healthy.

Hier in Portland war so viel los, allerdings fast nur in meinem Job...
Das Team war auf vielen Auswärtsspielen und ich war so gut wie nie mit Ruhe zu Hause.

So, first of all I have to apologize that I have not written anything for such a long time.
Here in Portland a lot has been going on and is has been crazy busy.
The team has been travelling a lot of away games and I didn't have much time to rest at home.

But now I'm back :-)

Nach den ganzen Touren, dem Dreh, meiner Mutter (Mum es war toll mit Dir!!!)... war es an der Zeit ein bisschen Spass und Entspannung zu haben.

Wir haben diese Woche eine Tour durch die wunderschöne Weinlandschaft in Portland gemacht. 
Per Bus ging es nach Newberg zum Weingut Penner-Ash ( ja, die heißen wirklich so :-) ), wo uns eine super nette Familie, die Besitzer des Weingutes, mit grandiosen Weinen, tollem Essen und einem noch schöneren Ausblick empfangen haben.

After all the away trips with the team, the shoot, my mother (mum it was a great time with you!!!)..., it was time for a little fun and relaxation.

We did a wine tour this week trough the beautiful vineyards in the surrounding Portland area.
We went by bus, first to Newberg to the winery Penner-Ash, where we tasted terrific wines, ate great food, enjoyed wonderful views, and got to meet a super cute family that owns and runs the vineyard.

Anschließend ging es weiter zur Stoller Family Estate. Wieder bei tollem Wetter, leckerem Wein und einer großartigen Landschaft.

After it we went to Stoller Family Estate. And again great weather, delicious wine and a magnificent landscape.

Aber mal ganz ehrlich - Wieso testet man guten Wein um Ihn danach wieder auszuspucken?
Lieber testen und trinken... :-)
Mein absoluter Favorit war übrigens der A to Z Rosewein von dem Weingut Rex Hill. Unser dritter und letzter Stop auf unserer Tour.

But let's be honest - Why do I have to test such a good wine just to spit it out?
I prefer testing and drinking... :-)
My absolute favourite rosewine, called A to Z, was from the Rex Hill winery, our third and final stop on our tour.


Nach einem tollem Wein Tag  ging es noch zum Abendessen ins eines meiner neuen Lieblings Restaurants - dem Prasad in Downtown Portland.
Seit Australien bin ich schon großer Raw Food Fan und zum Glück gibt es auch eine große Auswahl an tollen Restaurants hier in Portland.
Dieser Laden ist der Knaller.

After a great day of wine, we went to dinner at one of my new favourite restaurants - the Prasad in Downtown Portland.
Since being in Australia, I've become a big fan of Raw Food, an luckily there is a large selection of great restaurants here in Portland.
This shop is a big hit.

Das wichtigste im Leben sind doch Freunde und Familie. 
Daher bin ich überglücklich das eine Freundin aus Berlin gerade zu Besuch ist. 
Nun heißt es raus aus meinem Alltag, rein ins "ich spiele mal Touri in meiner Stadt :-) "…

The most important things in life are friends and family.
So I'm happy that a friend of mine from Berlin/Germany came to visit.
Now it's time to get out of my everyday life and into the "playing tourist in my town :-) " ...

Nach unserem gewonnenen Spiel am Mittwoch gegen Western NY Flash ( hier noch einmal die Highlights und auch ein riesiges Dankeschön an unsere Fans ), sind wir am Donnerstag nach dem Training Richtung Pacific City aufgebrochen. 
Endlich mal wieder das Meer :-), wie habe ich es vermisst…

Kurzer Zwischenstop in Tillamook, das übliche  - Pipipause und die unfassbar wilde, amerikanische Tierwelt bewundern :-)


After our win game on Wednesday against Western NY Flash ( here again the highlights and also a huge thanks to our fans ), we went to Pacific City, after training on Thursday.
Finally the sea :-), as I missed it…

We made a short stop in Tillamook, as usual - we stopped for a restroom break, or we say in Germany "Pippipause" and we admired the incredibly wild, american wildlife :-)

Tillmook bedeutet im Volksmund der Indianer, "land of many waters".
Von Wasser konnte ich da zwar noch nicht viel sehen, aber ich wusste, weit konnte es nicht mehr sein …
Mal Ausschau halten, mit meinem neuen Gefährt…

Tillmook means in the vernacular of the Indians, "land of many waters".
I couldn't see the water, but I knew it wasn't that far…

Da, endlich das Meer

Natürlich durfte so ein bissl Kultur auch nicht fehlen. Also auf zum Cape Meares Lighthouse - wunderschöner Blick und ab und an kann man auch Wale sehen - 
ich habe keine gesehen :-(


Of course we had to mix things up, to see a bit of the culture. So we saw Cape Meares Lighthouse 
- it was a beautiful view and from time to time you can also see whales -
I didn't see any :-(

Danach ging es weiter zu Fuß durch den Wald den Occtopus Tree bewundern.

Then we went walking through the woods to admire the Occtopus Tree.

Auf dem Rückweg vom Baum zum Auto, passierte das unfassbare. Eine Schlange!!!!!!!!!!! kreuzte meinen Weg!!!!!!!!! 
Wer es noch nicht weiß, ich mag diese Art von Tier nicht besonders und war in Australien immer sehr auf der Hut vor Ihnen und habe nie eine gesehen ( außer im Zoo…. ) 
Man, man, das muss ich erst nach Portland gehen um von einer Schlange quasi "angegriffen" zu werden.
Leider gibt es kein Foto von dem Riesenmonster. Mein Schrei hat sie wohl verscheucht :-)


On the way back from the tree to the car, something incredible happened. A snake!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
crossed my path!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Who doesn't know yet - I don't like this kind of animal. In Australia I was always very wary of them and I have never seen one ( except in the zoo … )
Man o man, I had to go to Portland to almost "attacked" by a snake.
Unfortunately there is no photo of the giant monster. My scream probably scared "him" away :-)

Nach dem Schock brauchte ich erstmal eine Verschnaufpause und was hilft da…
Richtig, essen und einen Drink mit Sonnenuntergang.

After the shock, I needed a breather, and what can be more helpful… 
That's right, eat and have a drink while watching the sunset…

Schön war es :-)

So, nun muss ich mal los, das nächste Spiel ruft schon wieder…

Circa 33 Bollywood in Portland

Das war mal wieder ein spannendes Wochenende. 

Am Freitag Abend habe ich mal eure ganzen Tips in, über und um Portland in Angriff genommen und rausgekommen bin ich im Bollywood Theater.
Wow, tolles Restaurant, in einer tollen Ecke von Portland, die ich noch weiter erkunden werde.

Again, that was an exiting weekend.

On Friday night I took time for all your advice in, over and around Portland. I ended up at the Bollywood Theater.
Wow, what a great restaurant, in a great corner of Portland, which I will explore further.

Am Samstag war dann das Spiel gegen Seattle… naja, was soll ich schreiben, 
seht hier selber die Highlights, wir haben Gas gegeben...


Danach ging es mit der kompletten Mannschaft in die Circa33 Bar in der SE Belmont St.

Mein Team sagte mir einen komischen Satz, den ich unbedingt dem Barkeeper sagen sollte 
- also gesagt, getan und schon hatte ich einen Zettel mit einer Botschaft in der Hand…

My team told me a funny pick up line, that I should definitely tell to the bartender.

…. dann mal los…. und schwups ging die Tür zum Hinterzimmer auf, wo schon ein Teil vom Team wartete. 
Es war ein entspannter Abend, in einer tollen Bar und ich kann das "Mafia" Buch nur jedem empfehlen ;-)

So morgen geht's nach Houston, da wir am Mittwoch bereits wieder gegen Houston Dash spielen werden.
Wenn ich zurück in Portland bin ( hoffentlich mit 3 Punkten im Gepäck ), gibt's neue Infos.

… here we go… and whoosh the door opened to the back room, where a part of my team was already there.
It was a relaxed evening, in a great bar an I can recommend the "Mafia" book to anyone :-)

So tomorrow we are going to Houston, because we have to play again on Wednesday against Houston Dash.
When I'm back in Portland ( hopefully with 3 points in my bag ), I will have some new info for you.

Kaffeeklatsch

Endlich wieder zurück in Portland. 

Nachdem ich am Sonntag aus Rochester zurück gekommen bin 

- nur so nebenbei, wir haben 1:1 gespielt… hier die Highlights vom Spiel -  

habe ich mir für meinen freien Tag vorgenommen, einen schönen, entspannten "Kaffeeklatsch Tag" in Portland zu machen.

Portland gilt als Hochburg der kleinen, feinen, individuellen Cafés, also ein perfekter Platz für mich als Koffeinjunkie.

Zu erst ging es in mein, mittlerweile Stammcafé, direkt am Stadion.

- Coffeehouse Northwest - 

Ein kleines, feines Plätzchen, mit vielen Köstlichkeiten und natürlich leckerem Kaffee.

Sogar das stille Örtchen ist sehenswert :-)


Finally back in Portland.
After the game in Rochester on Sunday.

My plan of the is to have a nice, relaxing "Kaffeeklatsch" day in Portland. 
"Kaffeeklatsch" means in German, to go out, have a coffee with your friend and gossip.
Portland is famous for the small, exquisite, unique Cafés, so it's a perfect place for me as a caffeine junkie.

At first I went to my favourite coffee place, right at the stadium. 
- Coffeehouse Northwest -
A small, fine place, with many delicacies and of course good coffee.
Even the restroom is worth seeing :-)

Anschliessend ging es von Downtown über die Hawthorne Bridge, Richtung Southeast Portland in einen wundersamen Laden, Namens Wildfang. 

(Ausnahmsweise mal ohne Kaffee, dafür mit schönen Klamotten :-) )

Wildfang hat eine schöne, immer wieder wechselnde Auswahl an Klamotten und ist immer einen Besuch Wert. 

Falls man mal nicht fündig wird, setzt man sich auf die Schaukel im Laden und schaut den anderen beim shoppen zu :-)


Then I went from Downtown over the Hawthorne Bridge, towards Southeast Portland to a wondrous shop called Wildfang.
( Exceptionally, a place without coffee, but with beautiful clothes :-) ) 

Wildfang has a beautiful, ever-changing selection of clothes and is always worth of a visit.
If you don't find something nice for yourself, you can sit on the swing in the store and watch the other people during the shopping :-)

Direkt neben Wildfang gibt's ein super Café - und da es heute meine "Kaffeeklatsch Tour" war, musste ich hier natürlich sofort einen Stop einlegen….

Das coava befindet sich in einer großen ehemaligen Lagerhalle und trotz der Größe ist es dort super gemütlich. Es gibt tollen Kaffee, der vor Ort frisch gemahlen wird und leckere Schweinereien, auch Süßspeisen genannt. 

coava ist ein kleiner Geheimtip von mir :-)



Right next to Wildfang, there's a super café - today is my "Kaffeeklatsch tour", of course I have to make a stop here immediately….
The coava is located in a large former warehouse and despite the size, it is a super cozy place. They have a great coffee that is freshly ground and even the desserts are very tasty.

Nach dem ganzen Kaffeewahnsinn brauchte ich mal eine koffeinfreie Stärkung. 

Da hilft nur scharfes Thai Essen mit viel Chili :-)

Laut meiner Mitspielerinnen, sollte das pokpok in der Division St. für solch scharfe Angelegenheiten genau das richtige Restaurant sein.
Also nix wie hin und ich wurde nicht enttäuscht.

Abgefahrener Laden, mit super leckerem Essen und irren Getränken.

Absolut empfehlenswert sind die Ike's Vietnamese Fish Sauce Wings und der Papaya Pok Pok Salat.

Dazu ein Glas mit Sellerie-Essig-Wasser ( ja hört sich schrecklich an, ist aber super lecker ) und der Abend war perfekt.

Das war ein guter Tip von den Mädels.



After all the coffee madness, I needed some time for a caffeine-free break.

The only helpful thing is spicy Thai food with lots of chilli :-)

According to my team mates, the best restaurant for spicy food, is pokpok in Division St.
So I went there, and I wasn't disappointed.
Crazy restaurant, with super delicious food and drinks.

I highly recommend the Ike's Vietnamese Fish Sauce Wings and the Papaya Pok Pok salad.
For this I tried a glass of celery-vinegar-water ( yes, sounds awful, but it is super delicious ) and the evening was perfect.
That was a good tip from the girls.

Nun geht's ab ins Bett, der Wecker klingelt morgen früh um 7:00h und das Training ruft.
